Cliptures Flags of the World are available for both Macintosh or Windows based computers. Download flags for either platform from our web site or get both the Macintosh and Windows versions on a "hybrid" CD disc!

File Formats

We offer the flag illustrations in several different graphics file formats to insure maximum compatibility with the greatest variety of software programs.

EPS Format:

(Mac and Windows) The original versions of all of the flags are created with Adobe Illustrator as vectored EPS format graphics. This format is the most common for the commercial graphic arts and printing industries. All colors are in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) format, ready for commercial color separations. They also work just as well on desktop color printers.

The vector format of the EPS illustrations gives you the flexibility to print the flags as large as you desire without any loss of image resolution. If the software program(s) you will be using the flag illustrations in supports EPS format graphics, this is the best choice for the absolute most accurate and highest quality images.

WMF Format:

(Windows only) The WMF format is probably the most common vectored graphics file format for Windows based computers. We provide the Cliptures Flags is this alternate format for the convenience of Windows users working with software program(s) that don't support EPS format graphics. These are extremely high quality WMF images that rival quality of our EPS versions. And because they are vector based graphics you can easily enlarge them without loss of image resolution.

JPG Format:

(Windows and Mac) The Cliptures Flags of the World CD Disc includes (in addition to the EPS and WMF versions) a copy of each flag in JPG (JPEG) format. We provide this format just in case you might be working with a software program that doesn't support either EPS or WMF graphics. The JPG images are bit-mapped graphics, the same format as is common with digital cameras. Each flag is a high resolution, 3 inch tall, 300 dpi image. They print beautifully on ink jet printers! The JPG versions are only available on the Cliptures Flags of the World CD. They are not available for download.

Flags for Media - PNG Format

(Windows, Mac, Linux) Our flags for media are in .PNG format. This is a bit-mapped (pixel based) graphics file format. The PNG format is frequently used for web based graphics. One of the outstanding features of PNG graphics is that they can have transparent backgrounds. We utilize this feature in our media flags so that you can use the flags over colored or textured backgrounds.
